Practical Matters: The Tasting Experience
I find the origin of the names of the days and the months fascinating. Thursday, for instance, was named after the Norse god Thor. January was named after the Roman god Janus, the god of beginnings and transitions. And if I were to mark our progress so far, I would say we were about to begin our January phase. For we are beginning a new chapter while we are poised at a transitional point in the enhancement of our wine experience. Like Janus, we are looking back on what we’ve learned as we begin phase two of Jancis Robinson’s How to Taste – A guide to enjoying wine.
