The Internet is an amazing resource when looking for answers. But inquiring minds beware, you’ll need to scrutinize all that information your search engines have generated. Why, because there’s more misinformation out there in cyberspace than quality information. Even Wikipedia is a work in progress when it comes to reliable information and sources. The information you download today may be revised or refuted tomorrow; so much for that well-researched book report and that A you were hoping for. That’s why it’s not a bad idea to have a good old fashioned set of Britannica Encyclopedia around, still the universally recognized gold standard in information quality. And right next to my set of Britannica, I have my wine encyclopedia The Sotheby’s Wine Encyclopedia by Tom Stevenson, for me the gold standard in wine information quality. To add this to your growing collection of quality publications on wine, just click on the book’s jacket cover.
